DMarket – Blockchaining the Gaming Industry

DMarket developed a blockchain platform that is allowing gamers to trade in-game items. This platform is going to unlock a multi-billion market.

Dmarket

There’s real money in virtual goods. Dmarket aims to make those goods reliably tradeable using blockchain technology, fusing large gaming ecosystems to a vibrant economic ecosystem.

According to the Global Games Market Report, 2.2 billion gamers around the world play games and 47% of them spend money while playing, namely in virtual goods. These scarce virtual goods have an intrinsic value that Dmarket is unlocking allowing them to be traded between games and gamers.

Millions of gamers wish to trade virtual in-game goods but at the moment, that’s a hard or impossible task. Previously, trading goods in the online world were fraught with peril. Gamers didn’t know if people would actually pay up or, on the other side, deliver genuine goods. Hackers and cheats would prey on the trusting. Dmarket aims to bring the reliability and verification of blockchain to the massive gaming market.

Using the blockchain and a programming app interface available on GitHub, Dmarket is delivering a unique worldwide platform that allows every virtual good to be traded in the real world – safely. Dmarket is unlocking this vast market opening the door of a multi-million dollar market.

“Dmarket is opening the door to a multi-million market, allowing over 2.2 billion existing gamers to trade and earn money selling and buying virtual items.”

A new gaming future

Dmarket is a multi-platform marketplace that allows trading virtual items from one gamer to another. This way, Dmarket is opening the door to a multi-million market, allowing over 2.2 billion existing gamers to trade and earn money selling and buying virtual items.

From in-game armors, guns, mounts, “powers” and “skins”, there are thousands of different virtual goods in the gaming market. You can find some examples of trades on the web like a Diablo 3 crossbow sold for $3.500, a Runescape hat for $1.650 or a Counter Strike bayonet for $1.050. This virtual items industry is at the moment a multi-billion dollar industry ready to open their doors to the world market with Dmarket.

How Dmarket is leading the market

Dmarket knows the gaming market inside out. The CEO, Volodymyr Ponchenko, is one of the most prominent tycoons of the gaming industry. As the owner of World of Games and Global Games, sold about 15 million games over the past 5 years. He is also the founder and developer of Skins.cash, the second biggest virtual items marketplace that already sold more than 16 million digital items in the market.

Dmarket is going to work as a decentralized blockchain based marketplace that will enable the exchange of virtual goods between games, total safely through smart contracts and without third party intervention. Dmarket has already developed a Demo & Testnet platform that is being used to perfect their platform they are bringing to market.

“Dmarket will offer an API that allows game developers to create digital items in the Dmarket blockchain, creating an ecosystem that will allow to trade inter-game goods and also doing the bridge between the virtual world and the real world.”

“The DMarket blockchain will log transfer of ownership and automatically exchange payments using the DMarket token,” says Panchenko, the company’s CEO. “This is what will allow gamers to trade virtual items for real goods.”

Dmarket will offer an API that allows game developers to create digital items in the Dmarket blockchain, creating an ecosystem that will allow to trade inter-game goods and also doing the bridge between the virtual world and the real world. The Dmarket token, that can be used to buy and sell the digital goods inside the platform, will be the native currency that will make this possible.

The project raised recently $19 million through an ICO that attracted thousands of investors that will be used to continue to develop the trading platform and build a following that will become the global trading platform for gaming exchange.

“We know gaming, we know the technology and we know what gamers want. This is the future gaming economy, right here at Dmarket,” says Panchenko
