Emotics Is Named Hong Kong’s Best Startup at Seedstars Hong Kong

Emotics, a regtech startup which uses machine learning and facial expression analysis to increase engagement in compliance training, has been named Hong Kong’s best startup at Seedstars Hong Kong.

Seedstars Hong Kong is the Hong Kong edition of Seedstars World, a global startup competition which aims to find top entrepreneurial talent across the globe.

At the competition, startups pitch in front of a jury of entrepreneurs and investors, and Emotics bested seven other companies to grab the top spot. Aside from winning prizes from Seedstars and its partners, Emotics will also advance to the Seedstars Summit, which is a week-long training program where over 65 startups meet and ultimately compete for up to $1 million in equity investment.

Here’s what Ray Horan, Emotics’ chief executive officer, told NexChange:
